On July 18, Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization announced that they will host the '2025 Incheon International Music Competition' from July 19 to 25 in cooperation with the Macau International Musicians Association, the International Cultural Exchange Association, and the Seoul International Culture and Arts Education Center. They plan to attract 600 domestic and international tourists through this event.
This competition is a follow-up achievement to the Incheon Tourism Roadshow held in Guangzhou and Zhengzhou, China, in October 2023, and, as with last year, will take place at venues such as Incheon National University and Incheon Global Campus.
Approximately 600 participants and domestic and international tourists are expected to visit major tourist attractions, including Chinatown and Songwol-dong Fairy Tale Village, centered around the Incheon Open Port area, after the competition concludes.
The city plans to actively promote tourism products that link the multi-cultural space 'Sangsang Platform' and nearby attractions to students, parents, and other potential individual travelers from participating countries, with the goal of encouraging repeat visits and a steady influx of tourists.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We hope this event will provide opportunities for new learning and challenges through music, as well as meaningful encounters with friends from diverse nationalities and backgrounds." The official added, "Going forward, we will make every effort to attract global individual and group tourists, including those from China, by utilizing Incheon Airport, the port, and convenient transportation and waterfront facilities."
