BPA and BPT Sign Regular Sponsorship Agreement... "Practicing Sharing with the Community"

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) signed a business agreement on July 17 with Busan Port Terminal Co., Ltd. (BPT, CEO Lee Junghaeng) to strengthen cooperation in social contribution.

The signing ceremony was held at the BPA headquarters, attended by Song Sangkeun, President of BPA, Lee Junghaeng, CEO of BPT, and officials from both organizations. They shared their commitment to promoting a healthy culture of donation and practicing community sharing.

Under this agreement, BPT will provide regular annual support worth 10 million won to BPA’s flagship social contribution program, “Hope Pantry.” The donation will be distributed as 5 million won each to the 8th branch of BPA Hope Pantry (Gamman General Social Welfare Center) and the 9th branch (Yongho General Social Welfare Center).

Earlier this year, BPT began its community engagement by participating in the Nam-gu Office’s “Hope Sharing Campaign,” and has since continued activities such as distributing daily necessities during holidays and supporting medical expenses for children with cancer. Through this regular sponsorship, BPT plans to further systematize its support for the local community.

Lee Junghaeng, CEO of BPT, stated, “With this regular donation as a starting point, we are preparing additional collaborative projects with Nam-gu Office and sponsorships for local events in the second half of the year,” adding, “As a port company that grows together with the community, we will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities.”

Song Sangkeun, President of BPA, said, “BPT’s participation will be an important opportunity to enhance the sustainability of the Hope Pantry program,” and continued, “Starting with this agreement, we will further expand our social contribution activities by linking with port operators and tenant companies in the hinterland complex.”

BPA supports the livelihood stability of residents living near the port through the “Hope Pantry,” and is conducting “Port Vicinity Social Contribution Projects” in cooperation with Jung-gu, Dong-gu, Nam-gu, and Yeongdo-gu offices to reach those in welfare blind spots. In the second half of the year, the support targets will be expanded to Saha-gu and Jinhae-gu.

In addition, BPA continues a variety of community contribution activities, including sponsorship of children in need, scholarship programs for the Port Training Institute and Busan Maritime High School, and support for educational equipment for North Korean defectors and alternative schools.
