"So That Teachers Can Focus Only on Their Students"
"We will spare no effort to protect and support teachers so that they can focus solely on their students in the classroom and so that the teaching profession is respected at educational sites."
Kim Daejung, Superintendent of Education of Jeonnam, expressed his deep condolences on the second anniversary of the death in the line of duty of a teacher from Seoi Elementary School, stating, "We will not forget."
On July 18, Kim posted on his Facebook page, "It has been two years since the teacher from Seoi Elementary School in Seoul passed away in solitude," adding, "As I remember the pain of that day, I look back on the past two years."

He said, "We all tried to create the 'happy classroom' that the Seoi Elementary School teacher so earnestly wished for, but we fell far short," and added, "I cannot help but acknowledge that schools remain a difficult and exhausting environment for teachers."
Kim also stated, "Two months ago in Jeju, yet another teacher left us before realizing their dreams," adding, "As an educator, I feel a heavy sense of responsibility."
He pledged, "I am determined to ensure that such tragic events never happen again," and promised, "I will devote even greater efforts to providing practical protection and support for educational activities so that teachers can focus solely on teaching their students in the classroom. I will not forget."
Previously, at a press conference marking the third anniversary of his inauguration held on July 3, Kim also stated, "We will improve the educational environment so that teachers can focus on their core roles, and we will complete the Jeonnam-style K-Education system, which harmonizes life, learning, and career."
