Green Plus announced on July 18 that it has signed a smart farm supply contract worth 5.5 billion KRW with the agricultural corporation Samtori. The newly secured smart farm will be a tomato smart farm covering 4,450 pyeong in Galsan-ri, Nonsan-si, Chungnam Province, with completion targeted for July next year.
Including this latest order, Green Plus has signed a total of 26.5 billion KRW in new contracts in the private smart farm sector over the past three months alone. The company stated, "While government and local government support projects for smart farms continue, inquiries for orders in the private sector are also steadily increasing." It added, "With the rapid growth in private sector orders, we believe it is possible to achieve record-high performance this year."
Green Plus is the leading smart farm company in Korea, building differentiated smart farm systems based on construction quality, design technology, and smart control solutions. Leveraging its accumulated expertise, the company is advancing its technological capabilities in areas such as integrated environmental control, energy efficiency optimization, and crop-specific customized design, thereby leading the transition to smart agriculture.
Meanwhile, the government considers smart farms to be a core future industry for agriculture and is focusing on initiatives such as expanding youth entrepreneurship-type smart farms, establishing smart farm innovation valleys, and building global testbeds. Accordingly, investment demand for large-scale facility smart farms with commercial viability and stability is also steadily increasing in the private market.
Due to repeated heavy rains and abnormal weather conditions recently, crop damage has intensified, leading to rapidly growing demand for smart farms that can ensure stable harvests and productivity. Green Plus plans to strengthen its role as a key partner in the transition to smart agriculture, leveraging its comprehensive capabilities from construction and design to technical support in the field of facility horticulture.
