[Poll Poll News] President Lee Approval at 65%... Democratic Party Convention: Jung Chung Rae 30% vs Park Chan Dae 29%

President Lee's Approval Rating Rises by 1 Percentage Point
Among Democratic Party Supporters: Jung Chung Rae 47% vs Park Chan Dae 34%

President Lee Jae Myung and the Democratic Party of Korea have seen a slight increase in their approval ratings. In a public opinion poll regarding the Democratic Party's national convention, candidates Park Chan Dae and Jung Chung Rae are running neck and neck among all respondents; however, among Democratic Party supporters, Jung Chung Rae enjoys a stronger support base.


According to a poll released by Korea Gallup on the 18th (conducted from the 15th to the 17th via wireless phone interviews with 1,000 people aged 18 or older nationwide, with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level and a response rate of 12.8%), 64% of respondents said President Lee is "doing well" in his duties. This is a 1 percentage point increase compared to the same question last week.

The percentage of respondents who answered "not doing well" was 23%, the same as last week. Regardless of region or age group, the proportion of respondents who said President Lee is "doing well" remained high.


Regarding party support, the Democratic Party's approval rating was 46%, up 3 percentage points from last week, while the People Power Party's approval rating remained unchanged at 19%.


In the survey on the Democratic Party's national convention among all respondents, Jung Chung Rae received 30% support and Park Chan Dae received 29%. The proportion of respondents who withheld their opinion was 41%. Compared to the survey conducted two weeks ago, Jung Chung Rae's support dropped by 2 percentage points, while Park Chan Dae's support rose by 1 percentage point.


However, when limited to Democratic Party supporters (based on 461 completed cases, with a margin of error of ±4.6 percentage points), Jung Chung Rae received 47% support and Park Chan Dae received 34%. The Democratic Party's national convention reflects 70% from party member votes (15% from delegates and 55% from rights-holding party members) and 30% from a general public opinion poll.
