Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pilho) announced on July 18 that broadcaster Lee Hyeyoung has donated 20 million won to help victims affected by the ongoing extreme heavy rainfall.
Lee Hyeyoung said, "My heart grew heavy as I heard news of those who suffered damage from the heavy rain," adding, "I decided to join in hopes of providing even a small amount of help." She continued, "I sincerely hope the rain stops as soon as possible and that residents in the affected areas can quickly return to their daily lives."
Lee Hyeyoung is a member of the 'Hope Bridge Honors Club,' a group of major donors, and has been recognized as a leading philanthropist who has consistently been among the first to participate in relief efforts whenever a disaster occurs, starting with the Gangwon wildfire in 2019. Including this latest donation, her total contributions to Hope Bridge now amount to 180 million won.
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, "We are deeply grateful to donor Lee Hyeyoung, who is always the first to extend a helping hand whenever disaster strikes." He added, "The funds you have provided will be used swiftly and transparently to support the livelihoods and housing recovery of affected residents."
Donations to support neighbors affected by flood damage can be made via the Hope Bridge website, as well as online fundraising platforms such as Naver Happybean and Kakao Together Value. More detailed information is available on the Hope Bridge website.
