National Pukyong University Holds Donation Ceremony for Earthquake-Affected Myanmar International Students

Faculty and Staff Collect and Deliver Donations Together on July 17

National Pukyong University (President Bae Sanghoon) held a "Donation Ceremony for Earthquake-Affected Myanmar International Students" in the reception room on the third floor of the university headquarters on the morning of July 17.

This ceremony was organized to comfort Myanmar international students from regions severely affected by the recent earthquake and to help them continue their studies.

President Bae Sanghoon, 11 Myanmar international students affected by the earthquake, and the president of the Myanmar Student Association attended the ceremony. President Bae Sanghoon delivered the donation on behalf of the university to student Kyaing Thiri Win Aung (Master’s Program in Global Korean Studies).

After the earthquake in Myanmar in March, faculty and staff at National Pukyong University voluntarily raised donations to support the affected students’ daily lives and psychological recovery, collecting a total of 2,530,000 won, which was delivered on this day.

President Bae Sanghoon stated, "I hope Myanmar international students do not lose heart and can focus on their studies. The university will also provide systematic support so that international students can find employment and settle down either during their studies or after graduation."

Currently, a total of 187 Myanmar international students are enrolled at National Pukyong University, and the university plans to continue providing ongoing support and attention to international students in the future.
