Concerns Remain Over Accessibility of Unmanned Stores in Singapore
FindersAI Launches Post-Payment Unmanned Store at Changi Airport
Plans to Open First Official Store in Singapore by Third Quarter
FindersAI announced on the 17th that it has officially opened an unmanned demonstration store for employees inside Singapore Changi Airport. This store marks FindersAI's first base in Singapore and is seen as establishing a foundation for technology verification and operational testing in the local market.
Although Singapore has rapidly adopted unmanned stores due to labor shortages and other factors, a significant number of these stores require card tagging or app installation upon entry. As a result, there have been ongoing concerns about limited accessibility for first-time customers and tourists.
FindersAI has implemented a 'post-payment unmanned store' that allows anyone to freely enter and exit without separate authentication. By utilizing multiple cameras and vision AI technology, the system tracks customer movement in real time and automatically recognizes purchased products, processing payments automatically. The company explains that this approach offers a more intuitive user experience than traditional self-barcode methods, and also provides a higher level of accuracy and security.
This technology has already proven its precision and stability in domestic stores and is recognized for its cost-effectiveness among global vision AI-based unmanned solutions. Chief Executive Officer Ham Myungwon stated, "Starting with this demonstration store at Changi Airport, we are preparing not only to expand into actual airport stores but also to make a full-scale entry across Southeast Asia."
Through this demonstration store, FindersAI plans to acquire local operational know-how and further advance its technology based on customer feedback. On this basis, the company aims to officially open its first actual store in Singapore within the third quarter of this year.
