'Left Foot Doctor' Beomsik Lee Holds Walking Campaign for APEC Success... Visits Goryeong County

A 400-Kilometer Journey on Foot to Gyeongju

Dr. Beomsik Lee, widely known as the 'Left Foot Doctor,' drew attention on the 17th as he visited Goryeong County while conducting a walking campaign to wish for the successful hosting of the 2025 Gyeongju APEC Summit.

This walking campaign was organized to raise public interest in the Gyeongju APEC Summit and to encourage local community participation and support for the international event.


Dr. Lee started in Gwangju and is walking approximately 400 kilometers over 26 days, passing through Damyang, Sunchang, Namwon, Hamyang, Geochang, Hapcheon, Goryeong, Dalseong, Daegu, Gyeongsan, and Yeongcheon before reaching Gyeongju. He walks each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Upon arriving in Goryeong County, Dr. Lee met with Deputy County Governor Kim Chungbok, delivered APEC-related promotional materials, greeted local residents, and actively promoted the significance and importance of hosting APEC through on-site outreach activities.


At Goryeong County Office that day, Dr. Beomsik Lee said, "I hope the 2025 APEC Summit will be successfully held and that Korea's status in the world will be further elevated," adding, "With that wish in mind, I am taking each step forward."


Last year, Dr. Lee also completed a total of 462 kilometers on foot over 31 days from Gwanghwamun in Seoul to Gyeongsan in North Gyeongsang Province, making this his second long-distance walking campaign.
