This program was organized to strengthen international practical experience and academic exchange in the healthcare field. Twelve third-year students from the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology and a supervising professor participated. The participants engaged in various field-oriented educational activities in Okayama, Japan, including four days of practical observation, hospital tours, and academic sessions.

The students gained knowledge of the latest laboratory medicine environments and techniques through attendance at anatomy classes at Okayama University and visits to clinical laboratories at university hospitals. During the academic presentation session, students themselves took the stage as presenters, drawing attention. Student Sung Junho introduced the city of Busan and the department’s curriculum in English, while student Hwang Dasol gave a presentation in Japanese on the importance of biomarkers for hepatocellular carcinoma, receiving a positive response.

Kim Hyeran, head of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science, stated, "Through this international exchange, students were able to develop a global perspective focused on practical experience," and added, "We will focus on nurturing talent with specialized expertise and international competitiveness."

This program is expected to lay the foundation for future international joint research in the field of laboratory medicine and serve as a stepping stone for fostering professionals who can proactively respond to the evolving global healthcare environment.
