To Be Operated from July 18 to 20
Promoting Tourism Resources and Local Products
The Sunchang Fermentation Tourism Foundation (CEO Sun Yoonsook) will operate the "Sunchang Pop-up Store" at the central plaza on the first floor of the Gwangju Lotte Outlet Gwangju World Cup branch from July 18 to 20.
According to the foundation on July 17, this pop-up store has been organized to commemorate the selection of the Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park as a Korea Tourism Organization Small but Promising Tourist Destination for this year. The event aims to introduce Sunchang's unique fermentation culture, tourism resources, local products, and character goods to city residents, and to expand tourism promotion and marketing for the region.
This event is hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization, organized by the Sunchang Fermentation Tourism Foundation, and held in cooperation with the Gwangju World Cup branch of Lotte Outlet. In addition, it will take place during the "Vacance Style Fair," which coincides with the summer vacation season, making it possible to effectively communicate the value of the Sunchang brand at a time and place with high foot traffic.
Lotte Outlet is contributing to the revitalization of local tourism by actively promoting the pop-up store through its own marketing channels, in line with its value of "co-prosperity with the local community."
At the event, a total of five local businesses will participate, including Sunway Adventure, Gabitree, Heenari Ranch, Ami Strawberry Experience Farm, and Beetledo. They will introduce tourist attractions, sell specialty products, and offer experiential items, including Sunchang's fermentation and microorganism character goods.
Visitors will be provided with information about various upcoming events in Sunchang in the second half of the year, including Kkomsoonrak (Sunchang Arcade for Kids) on August 23, the Sunchang Jang Festival from October 17 to 19, and the Sunchang Korea Tteokbokki Festa from November 15 to 16. These events will be promoted in advance at the pop-up store.
Additionally, on-site experiential content targeting the MZ generation will be offered, such as a roulette event where customers who spend over 30,000 won can win Sunchang goods, photo booth experiences, character photo time, photo zones, and SNS certification events.
Sun Yoonsook, CEO of the foundation, stated, "Sunchang is the home of traditional fermented foods, and recently it has been gaining attention as an experiential tourist destination for the MZ generation. I hope this pop-up store will spread the appeal of Sunchang and serve as an opportunity that leads to actual visits."
