Task Force Team Formed for Distribution Starting on the 21st
Thorough Preparation Including Call Center Operations
Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province will begin distributing the "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon" to all citizens starting July 21. The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon is a support fund provided to the entire nation as a measure to revitalize the local economy, stimulate consumption, and boost sales for small business owners and self-employed individuals.
The city has formed a dedicated task force team and, starting July 17, will operate a dedicated call center to minimize inconvenience for citizens and provide prompt responses to civil inquiries, aiming to create a synergistic effect for livelihood recovery.
The first round of Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon distribution will take place from July 21 to September 12. With an additional 30,000 won provided for non-capital regions, the support amounts are as follows: 180,000 won for general citizens, 330,000 won for those in the second-lowest income bracket and single-parent families, and 430,000 won for basic livelihood security recipients.
The second round of distribution is scheduled from September 22 to October 31. After an income screening process using health insurance premiums and other criteria, an additional 100,000 won per person will be provided to all citizens except for the top 10% income earners.
Citizens can choose from the following application methods: credit or debit card recharge (via the card company’s website, call center, ARS, or by visiting a partner bank), Jinju Sarang Gift Certificate mobile recharge (via the Jinju Sarang Gift Certificate app), or by receiving a prepaid card (by visiting the township office or administrative welfare center in their registered address). The coupons can be used until November 30, 2025. Any unused balance will not be refunded and will be automatically forfeited.
Coupons can be used at Jinju Sarang Gift Certificate affiliated stores and shops with annual sales of 3 billion won or less located within Jinju City, except for certain businesses such as large supermarkets, department stores, and entertainment or gambling establishments.
From July 21 to 25, an application day system based on the last digit of the applicant’s birth year will be in effect. Those whose birth year ends in 1 or 6 may apply on Monday, 2 or 7 on Tuesday, 3 or 8 on Wednesday, 4 or 9 on Thursday, and 5 or 0 on Friday.
A city official stated, "As this is a support fund for the recovery of the local economy, we will do our utmost to complete preparations for prompt distribution and provide active guidance so that the local commercial district can be revitalized."
