Yes24, a cultural content platform, announced on July 17 that author Cho Yeeun was selected as the top-ranked writer in the 'Young Writers Who Will Shape the Future of Korean Literature in 2025' poll conducted by Yes24.

The poll was held both online and offline from June 18 to July 15. A total of 443,455 people participated, including those who voted offline at Yes24's used bookstores and the Seoul International Book Fair, as well as those who voted online. Out of 20 young writer candidates, Cho Yeeun received 57,487 votes (8.7%), securing the first place.

Cho Yeeun has drawn attention in the literary world for sparking a boom in horror and thriller genres through works such as "Cocktail, Love, Zombie" and "Tropical Night." Last year, she ranked third in the same poll.

Baek Onyu, who received 47,310 votes (7.1%), ranked second, while Kim Hwajin, with 42,176 votes (6.4%), took third place.

Regarding the poll results, Cho Yeeun expressed her gratitude, saying, "These days, I realize that if affection is the driving force, another kind of fuel is needed to maintain that feeling," and added, "If someone as childish and simple as I am can have depth, it is only thanks to all of you who read my work."

To celebrate Cho Yeeun's selection as the top 'Young Writer Who Will Shape the Future of Korean Literature in 2025,' Yes24 is holding a congratulatory comment event until August 6. Among those who leave comments, 300 members will be selected to receive a 1,000-won YES Point voucher.

A book talk event will also be held. The "Summer Night Book Talk with Cho Yeeun" is scheduled for August 22 at Maumpoljjak Hall in Mapo-gu. Those who leave a comment on the book talk application page will have a chance to be invited, with 60 participants to be selected by lottery.
