Donkon Kim's Resident-Focused Medical Policy "Mobile Medical Center" Achieves 100% Satisfaction Rate Donkon Kim, Cheongyang County Governor

The public healthcare service "Mobile Medical Center," a resident-focused medical policy initiated by Donkon Kim, Governor of Cheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province, saw every resident who used the service express satisfaction with it in the first half of this year.

According to the county on July 17, a satisfaction survey conducted by the Health Medical Center showed that out of 259 respondents, 87% (226 people) selected "very satisfied," and 13% (33 people) chose "satisfied," resulting in a 100% positive response rate.

The "Mobile Medical Center" is a flagship resident-oriented policy in Cheongyang County that delivers medical services directly to residents in villages with low healthcare accessibility.

In particular, the service provides customized health management by linking telemedicine consultations, home visits, and integrated care services for the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.

In the first half of this year, mobile clinics were held in a total of 25 villages, starting with Hudeok-ri in Ungok-myeon on February 5 and ending with Jangjae-ri in Bibong-myeon on June 30. The total number of people who received medical care was 736 (277 men and 459 women).

Among them, 81% were seniors aged 65 or older, meaning that elderly residents, accounting for 25% of the actual resident population, utilized the service.

The range of medical services included specialized consultations in Western and Korean medicine, basic tests (such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol), secondary blood tests, physical therapy, Korean medicine acupuncture, moxibustion, injection treatments, and health education, all of which contributed to high resident satisfaction.

The main health issues identified were musculoskeletal pain, general weakness, and digestive diseases, and a variety of treatments were provided to help alleviate pain.

Notably, for residents with limited mobility or those in need of care, the combination of telemedicine and integrated care services helped minimize medical blind spots, which was very well received.

The county Health Medical Center held a business evaluation meeting on July 14 to share the results of the first half of the year and discuss issues and improvement plans for the on-site medical service. Director Sangkyung Kim and relevant department officials attended to seek practical improvements.

Going forward, the county plans to further strengthen the program by considering the addition of ophthalmology and dentistry, expanding health check-up items such as hearing and osteoporosis screening, and operating more health-related programs, in response to residents' suggestions.

Governor Donkon Kim stated, "Every county resident should have equal access to medical benefits within the region," adding, "We will continue to expand the mobile medical service to enhance residents' health rights and quality of life, and will work harder to build public healthcare infrastructure to extend residents' healthy lifespans."
