Professor Seo Kyungduk of Sungshin Women's University and actor Ryu Seungryong have released a video commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation, focusing on the life of independence activist Kim Maria.
The 2-minute and 30-second video, released on the 17th, details Kim Maria's activities in the independence movement. It covers how she evaded Japanese surveillance to smuggle the February 8 Independence Declaration into Korea by hiding it on her body and distributing it, as well as how she organized the Korean Patriotic Women's Association, a secret women's organization, and delivered military funds to the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea.
This video was planned as part of the 'V Coloring' service?a visible call connecting tone service provided by the three major mobile carriers?and as part of Professor Seo's '80th Anniversary of Liberation Donation Campaign.'
Professor Seo, who planned the video, stated, "To mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation this year, we are producing a series of videos highlighting the achievements of key figures in the Provisional Government to widely inform the public." Ryu Seungryong, who narrated the video, said, "I am pleased to be able to share Kim Maria's achievements through my voice, and I hope many people will watch the video."
If V Coloring customers set this video as their visible coloring, donations will be made to Gyeonggyojang, the last government building of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, and the funds will be used to improve the exhibition environment.
