Chairman Choi stated, "Although exchanges between the two countries have significantly decreased in all areas, including the economy, over the past few years, China remains the largest trading partner and one of the top three preferred overseas markets for Korean middle market enterprises. As a long-standing neighbor, a vast consumer market, a production base, and a key supplier of core raw materials, China is a very important partner for the Korean economy." He continued, "We must actively cooperate to address complex challenges such as supply chain restructuring, the climate crisis, and aging populations, which are difficult for any single nation to solve. At the same time, we should seek new growth paths appropriate to each country's stage of development."
Chairman Choi added, "The relationship between the two countries should be developed into a practical and mutually complementary partnership befitting the global capitalist system. By expanding opportunities for solidarity and cooperation with many countries in Northeast and Southeast Asia, as well as within ASEAN+3, I hope we can further strengthen the autonomy of this region, which constitutes an important pillar of the global economy."
In response, Ambassador Xing Haiming said, "Korean middle market enterprises, equipped with technological capabilities and flexible response capacities, are important partners for China's economy and industry, and a key pillar in strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. We will actively support the smooth entry of Korean middle market enterprises into China and maintain close communication with the Federation of Korean Middle Market Enterprises to further expand cooperation and exchanges between the two countries."
