On July 17, Shinsegae Department Store announced the launch of its exclusive travel platform, 'VIA SHINSEGAE.' This marks the first time in the industry that a department store is directly planning and operating travel products.

VIA SHINSEGAE released a teaser on the department store's official application (app) on July 17, and the official launch is scheduled for August 5.


VIA SHINSEGAE is divided into two tiers (▲Masterpiece ▲Origin) and four themes (▲Inspiration ▲Explore Shinsegae ▲Inner Balance ▲Like Local). The platform features products exclusively planned by Shinsegae, offering a variety of high-quality travel experiences tailored to each theme and tier.


The Masterpiece tier focuses on unique programs that customers have never experienced before. A prime example is the world-renowned motorsport event held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Customers can not only watch the final match of the 2025 final season but also access team-exclusive lounges and observe the technical staff preparing for the race up close. In addition to gourmet dining, VIPs can enjoy exclusive viewing zones reserved just for them.

Customers can also explore the Arctic aboard a luxury icebreaker with explorer James Hooper. There is also a journey where customers can attend the Chelsea Flower Show with award-winning garden designer Hwang Jihae, who won a gold medal at the show, and learn about the essence of British gardens.


The Origin tier offers differentiated travel experiences unique to Shinsegae. One trip features Dr. Hee-Won Jung, former professor of geriatric medicine at Seoul Asan Medical Center, renowned for her expertise in senior health. Customers can directly experience wellness cultures in New Zealand and Greece with Dr. Jung, allowing them to redefine the meaning of health. The program goes beyond simple sightseeing to provide deep cultural experiences.


Another distinguishing feature of VIA SHINSEGAE is its comprehensive total service before and after the trip. Before departure, customers can attend preview academies for pre-trip lectures or hands-on experiences, and receive customized amenities.


Transportation in a large luxury sedan from home to the airport is provided, along with airport check-in assistance. After the trip, customers can enjoy fine dining at restaurants or attend exhibitions and other cultural activities, benefiting from a full-package service designed for maximum satisfaction.


Purchasing travel products through VIA SHINSEGAE also counts toward Shinsegae VIP performance. Up to 100% of the purchase amount can be recognized as VIP performance.


In anticipation of the launch, the official 'Travel Calendar' event begins on July 17. By checking in on the app every day at 9 a.m. and receiving various benefits such as fashion, accessories, and food coupons, customers can also enter to win prizes including a 'JW Marriott Seoul Hotel gift certificate' and a 'Korean Air gift card worth 500,000 won.'


The 'Shinsegae Travel GO Hana Card' will also be launched on July 17. This is the first credit card from Hana Card equipped with travel services and is being released to coincide with the opening of VIA SHINSEGAE. Customers can earn Hana Money when using the card at Shinsegae Department Store and overseas.


In addition, 'Beyond Shinsegae,' which features e-commerce functions, will also be introduced for the first time. Beyond Shinsegae is an online shopping channel where customers can purchase department store products through the digital app.


By integrating SSG.com's electronic payment and delivery systems into the app, customer convenience has been significantly enhanced. Customers can now check products and make payments directly through the app, providing department store customers with an expanded omni-channel shopping environment.


Beyond Shinsegae will offer special coupon benefits, time-deal events, special promotions, and live commerce. Benefits that can be used at Shinsegae Department Store locations will also be provided to customers. Additionally, from the August launch until the end of December, 50% of the amount spent on Beyond Shinsegae will be recognized as next year's VIP performance.


Lee Sunghwan, Executive Director of Business Strategy at Shinsegae Department Store, stated, "Through VIA SHINSEGAE, which incorporates Shinsegae Department Store's unique curation expertise into travel products, customers will be able to enjoy refined travel experiences," adding, "We will continue to create premium services that Shinsegae customers can experience."
