On July 16, Sejong City announced that it had held the launch ceremony for the 2nd Sejong Resource Circulation Green Youth Supporters at the Industry-Academia Cooperation Center of Korea University Sejong Campus.

The Sejong Resource Circulation Green Youth Supporters, which continues from last year, is operated in collaboration with the Sejong Eco-Up Innovation Convergence University Project Group. It was established to encourage voluntary citizen participation in resource circulation practices centered on the community.

Composed of local university students, these supporters will discover various ways to effectively raise public awareness of resource circulation, including promoting the city's resource circulation policies to citizens.

At the launch ceremony, 11 people, including Korea University faculty, staff, and students, were appointed as supporters. The event also included sharing policies to reduce single-use product usage and discussing the individual roles of each supporter.

They plan to actively develop content that can improve citizen awareness of reducing single-use product usage and revitalize resource circulation. Their plan is to promote resource circulation policies through both online and offline activities, such as operating cafes, blogs, and promotional booths.

Kwon Youngseok, Director of the Environmental Greenery Bureau, said, "Sejong City is currently promoting various environmental projects, including eliminating single-use products in public institutions, supporting the reuse of multi-use containers, and the 'Yonggi Nae Sejong' campaign. Through the voluntary participation of university students, we will create a Sejong-style resource circulation policy in which all Sejong citizens participate together."
