On July 16, Coupang announced that the floor leadership of the Democratic Party, including Kim Byungki, acting leader and floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Kim Jooyoung, secretary of the Environment and Labor Committee (head of the Industrial Accident Prevention Task Force), Moon Jinseok (senior deputy floor leader), Heo Young (senior deputy floor leader for policy), Kim Namgeun, and Lee Yongwoo, visited the Coupang Logistics Service (CLS) sub-hub in Yangjaedong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

This visit was conducted to address the heat wave and the resulting surge in prices, which the party has designated as a "livelihood emergency," and to respond swiftly. Kim stated, "The heat wave is a disaster that threatens the lives and safety of the people," emphasizing, "Above all, it is important that safety measures and protocols are thoroughly observed on-site." He also said, "The 'five basic heat wave safety rules' for industrial sites are our top priority," and urged, "Please make every effort to ensure there are no blind spots."

The visiting group inspected the "enclosed large cooling zone," which CLS introduced as the industry's first, and checked the internal temperature. The temperature in the enclosed large cooling zone was maintained at 20 degrees Celsius. After touring the site, Democratic Party lawmakers commented, "This is a model case, and we hope Coupang's changes will spread to other companies," and also called for ongoing improvements through social dialogue.

Hong Yongjun, CEO of CLS, stated, "In line with the enforcement of the strengthened Occupational Safety and Health Act, we were able to lower the temperature in the work area to the low 20s Celsius through large-scale investments amounting to tens of billions of won," adding, "We will continue to invest in order to prevent heat-related illnesses."
