On July 16, Daesung Energy Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Moonhee) visited the "House of Sharing Happiness," a counseling center for small room residents in Seoseong-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu. The company delivered an emergency support fund of 3 million won for the "2025 Summer Heatwave Overcoming Project for Small Room Residents" and distributed cooling supplies and healthy meal kits to residents vulnerable to the heat.

This summer, with the heatwave arriving earlier than usual and record-breaking high temperatures, Daesung Energy provided this sponsorship to help small room residents in the Daegu area cope with the extreme heat.

Daesung Energy employees are caring for residents of small rooms in the Daegu area who are struggling with the summer heat.

This support initiative was planned based on Daegu City’s comprehensive heatwave countermeasures. Daesung Energy employees personally visited the community to deliver a variety of heat-relief items, including fans, air circulators, blankets, cool-touch clothing, and health food kits, directly to residents of the small room village.

Small rooms are a type of housing where a low-rise building is divided into several rooms. These cramped spaces, measuring about one pyeong each, do not allow for proper heat ventilation, making them especially vulnerable during heatwaves. In the Daegu area, about 550 people live in such conditions.

Park Hyunwoo, Deputy Team Leader at Daesung Energy who participated in the event, said, "It weighed heavily on my heart to see elderly residents living in cramped spaces where they cannot even open a window during the heatwave," adding, "I hope Daesung Energy’s small gesture will help the residents have a cooler summer."

Meanwhile, since 2003, Daesung Energy has continuously engaged in various community service activities such as sharing side dishes, kimchi-making events, and coexistence projects for small room villages in cooperation with the Volunteer Capability Development Center. The company plans to continue protecting the socially vulnerable through ongoing ESG management practices.
