Accelerating Preparations for the City's Signature Summer Water Festival
Enjoyable for Both Citizens and Tourists
On July 16, Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province held a progress briefing meeting in the city hall auditorium to review detailed implementation plans and supplementary measures for the 2025 Yeongju Siwon (ONE) Festival.
Yeongju City is holding a progress briefing meeting for the preparation of the 2025 Yeongju Siwon (ONE) Festival.
The meeting was attended by more than 60 people, including Acting Mayor Yoo Jeonggeun, Vice Chairman of the City Council Lee Sanggeun, city council members, directors of the Yeongju Culture and Tourism Foundation, and heads of relevant departments. Participants shared the festival's operational direction and preparations by sector, and exchanged a wide range of opinions on practical matters such as safety management, traffic and parking, and environmental maintenance.
The Yeongju Siwon (ONE) Festival will be held for five days from August 1 to August 5 in the Munjeong riverside area, which is close to the city center. Taking advantage of the festival venue's easy accessibility for citizens and tourists, the event will feature water play content, lively performances, and a variety of interactive programs.

The water park zone within the festival grounds will be equipped with various attractions such as a giant slide, a large pool, and air bounce equipment. Water play experiences will also be available in the spray zone and play zone, allowing people of all ages to cool off and have fun.
The main stage will host an EDM party for the MZ generation, the 2nd Yeongju Seocheon Riverside Song Festival following nationwide preliminaries, and the "Siwon Summer Night" performances with different themes each day, further enhancing the festival atmosphere.
Acting Mayor Yoo Jeonggeun stated, "We will create a summer festival where both citizens and visitors can forget the heat and regain vitality in their daily lives through thorough preparation."
During the meeting, evaluations of the Korean Seonbi Culture Festival and the Sobaeksan Royal Azalea Festival, both held in May, were also shared. Based on these evaluations, directions for improvement will continue to be reviewed and reflected in the overall operation of future festivals.
