First, Mayor Lee stated, "Autonomous driving is the culmination of advanced industries that combine AI, smart technology, sensors, and data. The designation of an autonomous driving pilot zone means that the entire city of Goyang will become a stage for advanced industries." He added, "As this is a future strategic industry where roads, spaces, systems, and urban planning are all interconnected, please begin preparing the necessary foundations now and strengthen organic collaboration among departments so that this can be expanded into industries, jobs, and citizen convenience."
He went on to discuss the "G-Nomics Five-Year Plan," which was announced on July 9 to mark the third anniversary of the 8th term administration. He said, "Over the past three years, Goyang has steadily built the foundational design for the city, including the construction of railway networks such as GTX, the Seohae Line, and the Gyeongui Line, as well as the designation of special education development zones, venture promotion districts, and hydrogen cities." He emphasized, "Now, with key projects equipped with self-sufficiency functions?such as Ilsan Technovalley, Broadcasting and Video Valley, and the third KINTEX exhibition hall?entering full swing, we must create a new five years that will determine the next 50 years of Goyang."
He further stated, "Public officials are not merely task performers but are also key players in designing the city of Goyang together." He urged, "So that citizens can truly feel the changes in Goyang, each department must work organically within the grand vision of G-Nomics, demonstrating results through action rather than words, and through achievements rather than just direction."
Mayor Lee also requested that not only the exact details of projects promoted by the city but also their progress and implementation processes be actively communicated. In particular, he noted, "In the case of local currency and livelihood recovery consumption coupons, the city bears a significant portion of the budget in addition to national funding, which ultimately becomes a tax burden for citizens." He stressed, "For effective policies for citizens to be realized, it is essential to accurately inform citizens about the content and progress of these projects."
Meanwhile, at the executive meeting, topics discussed included: a review of the progress of election pledges for the first half of 2025; strengthening disaster response to heatwaves, heavy rains, and food poisoning; and preparations for the second supplementary budget and the main budget.
