Busan Port Authority (BPA) received the Grand Prize, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency President's Award, on July 16 at the "2025 Workplace Health Management Best Practices Presentation Conference" hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency.
This nationwide event is held to share and promote exemplary cases of health management in order to enhance workers' health and create safer working environments. Companies from various industries, including manufacturing, construction, and services, participated to present their own health management know-how and achievements.
BPA transferred its health management operations from the existing welfare department to the Disaster Safety Office, a department directly under the president, established a management policy for worker safety and health, and specified health promotion activities as a budget item. In addition, BPA introduced a voluntary participation program incorporating gamification elements to promote employee health, operated experiential health booths in cooperation with local health centers, and implemented health promotion programs. The organization also established the "BPA Mind Healing Center" for job stress management and the peer support program "Mind Keeper," providing emotional support tailored to the characteristics of each job.
Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "This award is the result of listening to voices from the field and everyone working together to create a healthy and safe workplace." He added, "We will continue to further enhance the level of health management to build a people-centered Busan Port."
