RFTech Subsidiary Hanju Hightech Breaks into Major Corporations... Accelerates Full-Scale Entry into Defense Industry

On July 16, RFTech announced that its subsidiary Hanju Hightech has made a full-scale entry into the defense industry by supplying small warhead coating waterproofing equipment to a major domestic defense company. This expands its business scope from semiconductor, display, and secondary battery equipment to now include defense industry facilities.

This delivery was made approximately three months after Hanju Hightech was registered as a primary partner of the defense company. The company explained that it is currently in discussions for additional quotations for further defense equipment. Previously, at the end of last year, Hanju Hightech entered the defense sector for the first time by supplying ballistic missile separation equipment to another defense company.

Hanju Hightech has built its technological capabilities in the inspection and automated logistics equipment sectors by collaborating with major companies such as Samsung Display, SEMES, and LG Energy Solution. To date, the company has secured confirmed orders worth approximately 78.8 billion KRW across four sectors: semiconductor, display, secondary battery, and defense. The annual order target for this year is over 120 billion KRW, which is double last year's sales of around 60 billion KRW.

A company representative stated, "Based on our inspection equipment and factory automation technologies, we can meet defense clients' needs for production efficiency and quality control," and added, "We expect to further expand our orders in the defense facility sector, leveraging our technological competitiveness."

Lee Jeonggi, CEO of Hanju Hightech, said, "With the defense market gaining momentum, we plan to strategically expand defense-related sales in the second half of the year," adding, "We will also accelerate the acquisition of new customers and the development of new equipment."

Meanwhile, the global defense market continues to grow due to factors such as US-China tensions and geopolitical instability in Europe and the Middle East. According to market research firm The Business Research Company, the global defense market is expected to reach 676.64 billion USD (approximately 934 trillion KRW) by 2029. As a result, global defense companies are expanding the introduction of automated production lines and precision quality control systems.
