Hamyang County Holds Entrance Ceremony for 18th Class of Hamyang Agricultural College

Education Program Begins to Foster Core Talents

Hamyang County, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on the 16th that it held the entrance ceremony for the 18th Class of Hamyang Agricultural College (Onion Class) at the Agricultural Technology Center conference room, with County Governor Jin Byeongyeong and approximately 35 students in attendance.

Hamyang Agricultural College is an educational program designed to foster professional farmers who can proactively respond to the rapidly changing agricultural environment. Its slogan is "Meaningful Education, Enjoyable Education, Practical Education." This year, the college has launched a specialized "Onion Class" focused on onions, Hamyang's representative crop, and is beginning full-scale education.

This program will be conducted over four months from July to October, totaling 80 hours. It consists of practical training covering the entire onion cultivation process, including onion seedling production, cultivation techniques, soil and pest management, as well as harvest and post-harvest management.

In particular, it is expected that this program will systematically develop the core agricultural competencies necessary for Hamyang to maintain its reputation as a leading onion-producing region nationwide.

Governor Jin Byeongyeong stated, "The passion of all the students who have gathered here to learn new agricultural technologies and professional knowledge, despite your busy farming schedules, is the very hope of Hamyang agriculture." He added, "I hope you will diligently complete the four-month course and grow into professional talents who will lead the future of Hamyang agriculture."
