Wando County in South Jeolla Province will actively begin distributing electric vehicles and electric two-wheelers in the second half of this year to achieve carbon neutrality and improve air quality.

The amount of subsidy will vary depending on the type and size of the vehicle. For electric passenger cars, up to 10.3 million won per vehicle is available; for trucks, up to 21.7 million won; and for two-wheelers, up to 3 million won. Eligible vehicle models can be checked on the Ministry of Environment's "Zero-Emission Vehicle Integrated Website."
Applicants must be individuals aged 18 or older (16 or older for two-wheelers), corporations, local public enterprises, or public institutions who have been continuously registered as residents of Wando County for at least 90 days prior to the application date. Central government agencies are excluded. Purchase applications must be submitted online through the vehicle dealer after the buyer signs a contract, and subsidies will be provided in the order of vehicle delivery and registration.
Wi Namhwan, head of the Environmental Water Quality Management Division, said, "We will continue to distribute electric vehicles to achieve carbon neutrality and improve air quality."
