Please Hire More Vocational High School Graduates... Superintendent Lim Jongsik Holds Meeting with 15 Pohang Company CEOs

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) held the '2025 Superintendent-Company CEO Communication Meeting' on July 16 at The-K Hotel Gyeongju in Gyeongju City, with the participation of Park Jeseo, Chairman of the Pohang Promising Small and Medium Enterprises Council, as well as representatives from local companies, totaling 15 attendees.


This meeting was organized to strengthen the ongoing cooperation system with local companies based on the safe operation of on-site training for vocational high school students and stable recruitment linkage, and to exchange practical opinions to promote employment for high school graduates.

The meeting was attended by Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, members of the Pohang Promising Small and Medium Enterprises Council, and representatives and recruitment officers from 15 leading local companies, including LIG Nex1 Co., Ltd., Ajin Industrial Co., Ltd., Hanjung NCS Co., Ltd., Jinbang Steel Co., Ltd., Geumchang Co., Ltd., Sinjin Co., Ltd., Daeryuk Electric Wire Co., Ltd., Shinil Intech Co., Ltd., Metaz Co., Ltd., IRAX Co., Ltd., JM Co., Ltd., MDN Co., Ltd., Wonjae Industry Co., Ltd., Sangbok Myungkwawon Agricultural Corporation, and Geobin Co., Ltd. They discussed ways to recruit talented vocational high school graduates and to vitalize industry-academia cooperation.


Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education has maintained the highest employment rate nationwide for five consecutive years in the Ministry of Education's vocational high school graduate employment statistics survey. The office is nurturing skilled technical talent with strong field adaptability for outstanding local companies through initiatives such as the Vocational Education Innovation District Project, the Gyeongbuk-type Meister School operation, and restructuring of academic departments in connection with Gyeongbuk's industries.


Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, stated, "I find it very meaningful that this meeting has allowed us to meet with on-site training-related institutions and company representatives, and to establish and maintain a cooperative system." He added, "We will continue to actively support our students so that they can participate in on-site training and be connected to employment at outstanding local companies."
