Fasoo Enhances Ransomware Prevention with Upgraded 'Mind-SAT'

Fasoo announced on July 16 that it will enhance the training features of its malicious email simulation service, Mind-SAT. The company aims to help businesses and organizations effectively improve their employees' security awareness so they can respond to cyber threats such as ransomware.

Mind-SAT is a Security Awareness Training (SAT) service designed to strengthen the security levels of employees, which is both a fundamental and essential element of cybersecurity. As cyber threats have recently become highly sophisticated, perfect defense has become impossible, highlighting the importance of proactive, prevention-focused malicious email simulation training.

By reinforcing employees' security awareness through repeated training, organizations can significantly reduce the risk of hacking via email, which is the most common entry point for ransomware. Fasoo's Mind-SAT includes malicious email simulation training that reflects the latest trends, a reporting center where users can check whether an email is actually malicious, and customized training based on Fasoo's expertise.

Specifically, Mind-SAT uses scenario-based simulated malicious emails developed using social engineering techniques to raise employees' security awareness. Organizations can assess their overall security level by measuring reporting and participation rates. In addition, if employees receive a suspicious email during work, they can forward it to the reporting center without opening it. The center analyzes the email and informs the reporter whether it is actually malicious, allowing real threats to be filtered out.

To further enhance employee security awareness and improve administrator convenience, Fasoo has added a new video training feature to Mind-SAT. On the Mind-SAT administrator page, administrators can select the training content, target audience, training period, and videos. Training videos can be chosen from those provided by Fasoo or uploaded directly by the user.

Kang Bongho, Head of Fasoo's Service Business Division, stated, "Malicious email simulation training is a mandatory requirement for ISMS (Information Security Management System) and ISMS-P (Personal Information Management System) certifications. Recently, there has also been a growing demand for education and training completion among partners to strengthen supply chain security."

He added, "As a government-designated information security service provider, Fasoo has incorporated years of expertise into Mind-SAT, which has demonstrated quantitative results by turning employees' security capabilities into real-world actions, going beyond simple training. It is a key tool for substantially enhancing defenses against cyber threats such as ransomware."
