On July 16, GS Engineering & Construction announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MeteoSimulation, a company specializing in fire simulation, for fire safety performance design in high-rise residential buildings.
The two companies will use artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize structural and equipment design for fire preparedness. Their goal is to extend the available evacuation time and guide residents along efficient routes to safe locations, thereby significantly enhancing the safety of high-rise buildings.
Currently, GS Engineering & Construction possesses technology for simulating various fire scenarios and resident evacuations in the event of a fire. Through this collaboration, the company has secured specialized technology in fire safety, a core area in the construction of high-rise residential complexes.
GS Engineering & Construction plans to first apply the 'AI-based fire prediction system' established through this agreement to the Seongsu Strategic Zone 1 Redevelopment Area and the Seocho Jinhung Apartment Reconstruction Complex, and then expand its use to other urban redevelopment projects.
A GS Engineering & Construction representative stated, "Through this technological collaboration, we will realize data-driven fire safety designs that customers can truly experience."
