According to the home appliance industry on July 16, LG Electronics received a total of 16 awards, including three Grand Prizes, at the awards ceremony held at the Korea Press Center. This marks the ninth consecutive year that LG Electronics has won the most awards in the industry. The company was recognized for its leadership in energy efficiency and carbon neutrality across its core businesses, including home appliances, vehicle components, and business-to-business (B2B) sectors such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
In particular, the built-in style refrigerator 'LG Dios AI Objet Collection Fit & Max' received the 'Energy Winner' award, which is given to technologies or products with outstanding energy efficiency and savings performance. The company also received the 'Carbon Neutral Winner' award for its activities aimed at drastically reducing carbon emissions, which is given to low-carbon products or carbon-neutral initiatives that contribute to carbon neutrality.
The 'LG Dios AI Objet Collection Fit & Max' refrigerator won both the Grand Prize in the Energy Winner category and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award. This product uses artificial intelligence (AI) to learn customers' lifestyle patterns and enhance energy efficiency. During the morning hours, when customers frequently open and close the refrigerator door, it operates in intensive cooling mode to minimize temperature increases inside the refrigerator. At night, when the refrigerator is rarely used, it automatically switches to power-saving mode.
In the vehicle component business, LG Electronics received both the Grand Prize in the Carbon Neutral category and the Minister of Environment Award for activities that significantly reduced carbon emissions by applying advanced techniques such as data analysis and virtual verification. Additionally, the 'LG Tromm AI Objet Collection WashTower,' equipped with an AI Direct Drive (DD) motor, achieved both the largest domestic washing and drying capacity of 25 kilograms and the highest energy efficiency rating of Grade 1, earning it the Grand Prize.
Jung Yeonchae, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Value Innovation at LG Electronics, stated, "We will continue to make efforts to lead with differentiated high-efficiency energy technologies so that customers can take pride in contributing to the environment simply by experiencing LG Electronics products."
Samsung Electronics was awarded the Energy Grand Prize for its 'Bespoke AI Hybrid KitchenFit Max' refrigerator, marking its seventh consecutive year of winning the Grand Prize. This product also received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, achieving a double win.

The 'Bespoke AI Hybrid KitchenFit Max' refrigerator is equipped with the 'AI Hybrid Cooling' feature, which Samsung Electronics applied to a household refrigerator for the first time in Korea last year to enhance cooling efficiency. 'AI Hybrid Cooling' is a new cooling method in which the compressor and Peltier semiconductor element operate together to achieve optimal efficiency. Under normal conditions, the compressor operates alone to maintain energy consumption, but in situations requiring powerful cooling, both the compressor and the Peltier element operate simultaneously for rapid cooling.
The 'Bespoke AI Dishwasher' also received the Energy Technology Award, which is given to products with outstanding energy efficiency technology. In addition, the 'AI WindFree Combo Wall-Mounted' air conditioner received the Energy Winner Award for its exceptional energy-saving performance. All Samsung Electronics home appliances that won awards this year have achieved the highest energy efficiency rating of Grade 1, making them eligible for benefits under the 'Best Efficiency Home Appliance Rebate Program' implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The 'Galaxy Book5 Pro' received the Energy Winner Award. This product is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra Processor Series 2 (code name Lunar Lake). It also supports enhanced AI performance through an upgraded graphics system and a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of up to 47 TOPS (47 trillion operations per second), providing a convenient AI PC experience by utilizing Galaxy AI.
