The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will conduct the 'Level 1 Certified Teacher Qualification Training' for approximately 5,000 kindergarten, elementary, and secondary school teachers in the province from July 21 to August 14.
This training, aimed at strengthening teachers' competencies for future education, will span a total of 100 hours and take place at the Southern and Northern Training Institutes of the Provincial Office of Education, the Future Science Education Institute, Korea University, Daejin University, and other locations.
To enhance the quality of the training, the Provincial Office of Education designed the curriculum and operational methods through prior consultations (a total of eight sessions) with training institutions and universities. The program is structured around practical problem-solving in the field, including lectures, discussions, action learning, case presentations, and hands-on practice.
In particular, the effectiveness of the training has been enhanced, and the quality and field applicability of the program further strengthened, through a consulting and monitoring team composed of teachers from subject research associations.
Through this training, the Provincial Office of Education plans to strengthen teachers' professionalism and qualifications, as well as deepen their understanding of the latest education policies and digital transformation?including artificial intelligence (AI), high learning, college admissions system reform, the high school credit system, and multicultural education?to reinforce the foundation of future education in Gyeonggi Province.
An official from the Provincial Office of Education stated, "This year's Level 1 Qualification Training will be operated with a focus on strengthening three core competencies: learning activities and student guidance capabilities, adaptability to the changing educational environment, and expertise in education policy and subject matter."
