Seminar to Be Held on the 23rd
Deloitte Anjin Accounting Corporation and the Korea Listed Companies Association announced on July 16 that they will jointly host a seminar titled "Case Analysis of Early Disclosure on Fraud Control and Explanation of Checkpoints for Fair Value Evaluation for Financial Reporting Purposes (Including Derivatives)" at the main auditorium of the Listed Companies Hall on July 23.
This event is part of the "Joint Business Agreement on Internal Accounting Management Systems" signed by the two organizations in 2020. It is designed to enhance the practical operation of internal accounting and strengthen the ability of listed companies to respond to external audits. The seminar targets accounting and finance professionals at listed companies facing mandatory disclosure of fraud control and accounting issues related to fair value evaluation.
In the first session, Jung Hyun, Head of the Internal Accounting Management System CoE Center at Deloitte Anjin, will introduce strategic disclosure methods and present an analysis of companies that made early disclosures in 2024. This session aims to help listed companies with assets of 100 billion KRW or more effectively respond to the mandatory disclosure of fraud control activities, which has been enforced from this year.
The second session will cover fair value evaluation for financial reporting purposes and accounting issues related to derivatives. Heo Jun, Partner at the Valuation Services Group of Deloitte Anjin, will explain key points and practical cases of "Management Review Control" during the process of reviewing evaluation reports and preparing requested materials when engaging external experts. Following this, Kim Sunghoon, Leader of the Derivatives Specialist Group at Deloitte Anjin, will provide explanations on important issues in derivative accounting practices, such as accounting for convertible financial instruments, hedge accounting requirements, and documentation cases.
Jang Sujae, Head of the Audit Division at Deloitte Anjin, stated, "This program is designed so that internal accounting and accounting staff can immediately apply it to their work," adding, "Deloitte Anjin will continue to faithfully fulfill its role as a leading firm in the field of internal accounting education content."
Sun Woojungtaek, Standing Vice Chairman of the Korea Listed Companies Association, commented, "With the mandatory disclosure of fraud control now in effect this year, I expect that this seminar, which analyzes early disclosure cases and presents effective response strategies, will be timely and highly practical content that will greatly benefit practitioners."
Meanwhile, for companies unable to attend in person, online education will also be provided via the Korea Listed Companies Association website and the Deloitte Anjin website from July 31, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
