Redefining Service Philosophy with a New Corporate Vision
Danggeun, Korea's leading local community platform, announced on July 16 that it has released a campaign video featuring its corporate vision and brand slogan to mark its 10th anniversary.
Danggeun began its service in July 2015 under the name 'Pangyo Market.' In October of the same year, the company rebranded as 'Danggeun Market,' an abbreviation of 'Your Neighborhood Market,' strengthening its identity as a local community platform. After expanding its service nationwide in 2018, Danggeun has introduced a variety of local-based services, including not only secondhand trading but also 'Neighborhood Life' for sharing information among neighbors, 'Danggeun Groups' for connecting neighbors based on shared interests, 'Biz Profile' for linking local businesses, 'Danggeun Alba' for job searching, and direct transaction services for real estate and used cars.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Danggeun unveiled a new vision statement: "Connecting everything local to unlock the hidden value of neighborhoods." This vision statement encapsulates Danggeun's identity as a platform that connects various aspects of neighborhood life?including community, groups, business, job searching, and real estate?beyond just secondhand trading. The new vision goes beyond simple service expansion, focusing on the new opportunities and value that the many connections within Danggeun can create.
Danggeun also released a 10th anniversary video to illustrate the meaning of its vision. Centered on the brand slogan "The Door to Your Neighborhood," the video depicts various moments of connection among neighbors, such as secondhand trading, group activities, and job searching. Through repeated scenes of doors opening, the video visually emphasizes Danggeun's core role in helping people discover opportunities and information in their neighborhoods, expand their businesses, and experience connection within their local networks. The video is available on Danggeun's official website and social media channels.
Hwang Doyeon, CEO of Danggeun, said, "The past 10 years have been a journey of taking on the challenging path of 'local,' gradually building trust among neighbors, user experience, and warm connections." Hwang continued, "These connections are reigniting the value of local communities and expanding into a greater movement where people discover opportunities and build relationships within their neighborhoods." Hwang added, "For the next 10 years as well, Danggeun will continue to serve as the 'door' between neighborhoods and people, creating deeper connections in local life."
