Prime Minister Minseok Kim visited Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit will be held, for the second time in four days to inspect the preparation status.
On the first day of his two-day visit on the 15th, Prime Minister Kim closely examined the preparation status of various accommodation facilities and services, ranging from lodgings for working staff and the press corps to those for heads of state.
He first received a report on the current conditions and response measures for accommodations with poor service quality, including food and beverage services, and instructed that preparations should be made so that working staff, including the press corps, experience minimal inconvenience.
Additionally, during his visit to a hotel staff service training site, he stated, "I hope the working staff will make sincere efforts."
Prime Minister Kim thoroughly inspected all head-of-state-level accommodations undergoing renovations and requested that the ongoing work proceed without any setbacks according to the plan.
Regarding training centers with insufficient service facilities, he instructed that related organizations cooperate closely to ensure that services are provided at the level of major hotels.
The inspection on this day was attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Second Vice Minister Jina Kim, Gyeongju Mayor Nakyoung Joo, and officials from North Gyeongsang Province.
On the 16th, Prime Minister Kim will inspect the preparations for cultural content. In the morning, he will receive a briefing on the official banquet event plan and the overall cultural event plan from Artistic Director Jungwoong Yang and relevant ministry officials at the National Gyeongju Museum, and in the afternoon, he is scheduled to visit related sites.
Previously, on the 11th, Prime Minister Kim also visited Gyeongju, presided over an on-site inspection meeting at the Gyeongju HICO, the APEC Summit venue, and inspected the conference facilities.
