Discovering and Nurturing Outstanding Startups in the Local Entrepreneurship Sector
The 'RISE K-U City Project,' promoted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chilgok-gun, is accelerating efforts to establish a foundation for local youth settlement and industrial growth.
The 'RISE K-U City Project' serves as a youth-centered local innovation platform focused on nurturing talent, developing technology, improving residential environments, and discovering cultural content. Since last year, Chilgok-gun has established specialized departments linked to local industries at Daegu Catholic University and Kyungbuk Science University to cultivate locally rooted talent.
In particular, Daegu Catholic University, as a core participating institution in this project, is playing a pivotal role in the regional innovation ecosystem through collaboration with local companies, talent development, and technical support.
Additionally, by expanding local business agreements, conducting corporate surveys, and implementing various support programs, the project is focusing on fostering local startups and building industry-linked models, thereby promoting the growth of local companies.
Seong Han-ki, President of Daegu Catholic University, said, "Through the RISE K-U City Project, the university will serve as a catalyst connecting local companies and youth, and we will strive to contribute to revitalizing the local economy and solving the issue of youth settlement."
