On the 16th, Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to be mostly cloudy with rain.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, due to the influence of a low-pressure system located over the East Sea on this day, precipitation of 10 to 60 millimeters is expected in Gwangju and Jeonnam. The highest daytime temperatures are forecast to range from 27 to 31 degrees Celsius.
Waves in the seas off the west and south coasts are expected to be calm at around 0.5 meters, and the concentration of ultrafine dust is projected to remain at a 'good' level.
An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "While it is raining, temperatures will drop somewhat, but after the rain stops, the high humidity will cause the maximum perceived temperature during the day to rise again to around 31 degrees Celsius, and the heatwave is expected to continue." The official also urged, "Infants, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses are particularly vulnerable to heat-related illnesses, so please take extra care of your health."
