Police: "Employee in His 20s Detained and Under Investigation"
An employee at a guesthouse in Jeju Province has been urgently arrested by police on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female guest.
On July 15, Seogwipo Police Station in Jeju announced that they had detained and were investigating a guesthouse employee in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of quasi-rape.
Mr. A is accused of sexually assaulting a female guest in her 20s who was intoxicated at the guesthouse in Seogwipo, where he worked, in the early morning hours of July 13. Police reportedly made an urgent arrest and are currently investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident.
Guesthouses in Jeju Province are largely divided into party-type and non-party-type establishments. Party-type guesthouses typically host gatherings in separate spaces for as few as 10 to as many as 50 people. Most employees and guests are in their 20s or 30s, and parties often continue late into the night.
