Schauffele's Father Reveals Details in The Times Interview

Schauffele Rejects LIV Golf Proposal, Stresses Commitment to PGA Tour
World No. 3 Xander Schauffele (USA) has reportedly been offered more than 200 billion KRW to join LIV Golf.
Schauffele's father, Stefan, revealed in an interview published by The Times (UK) on July 14 (local time) that LIV Golf offered his son between $150 million (approximately 207.5 billion KRW) and $200 million (approximately 276.7 billion KRW) if he would leave the PGA Tour and join LIV Golf.

Schauffele is a major star, having won a gold medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and capturing both the PGA Championship and The Open last year. While there have often been rumors about Schauffele moving to LIV Golf, this is the first time the specific amount and the fact that he received a formal offer have been made public. Stefan stated, "Schauffele turned down the offer," and added, "Even if they had doubled the money, my son would not have gone to LIV Golf."
Schauffele will be aiming for back-to-back victories at The Open, one of golf's major championships. The tournament will be held at Royal Portrush Golf Club (par 71, 7,381 yards) in Portrush, Northern Ireland, starting July 17. If Schauffele wins, he will become the first player to successfully defend the title at this event in 17 years, since Padraig Harrington (Ireland) did so in 2008.
