A temporary teacher who broke into a high school during the exam period in an attempt to steal exam papers has been arrested.
On the afternoon of July 14, Park Minkyu, the judge in charge of warrants at the Andong branch of the Daegu District Court, issued an arrest warrant for temporary teacher A (in his 30s) after conducting a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant review). Judge Park stated that the reason for issuing the warrant was "concerns about destruction of evidence and risk of flight."

A, who is facing charges of bribery after improper conduct, trespassing, and obstruction of business, underwent the warrant review at the Andong branch for 30 minutes starting at 2 p.m. that day. Appearing at court in plain clothes and bound with a restraining rope, he did not respond to reporters' questions about whether he admitted to attempting to steal final exam papers from the high school with a parent during the early morning hours.
He also remained silent when asked, "Since when have you been committing such crimes?" According to police, at around 1:20 a.m. on July 4, A is suspected of entering a high school in Andong City without permission together with parent B (in his 40s).
Police investigations revealed that school facility manager C condoned their intrusion into the school. Their crime was detected when the school's security system was activated.
It is reported that police have confirmed circumstances suggesting an exchange of money among those involved. A was found to have worked as a temporary teacher at this school until last year. He is currently employed as a temporary teacher at a high school in Gyeonggi Province. The warrant review for B and C is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. on July 15.
