Jinhae-gu, Changwon Special City, Mobilizes All Resources to Prevent Heavy Rain Damage Remove the rainwater drain cover.

On July 13, Jinhae-gu conducted intensive inspections of 40 disaster-prone locations, including landslide risk areas, steep slopes, and valleys. In addition, the district especially strengthened monitoring of low-lying coastal areas to prepare for heavy rain coinciding with high tide.

During the inspections, sandbags were immediately placed at construction sites where soil runoff had occurred, and gravel that had spilled onto roads from construction sites was quickly cleared to minimize traffic inconvenience.

In particular, the district office used a pre-prepared "rainwater drain cover map by neighborhood" to promptly remove rainwater drain covers near residential areas. The area around the traditional market was also re-inspected to ensure smooth drainage of rainwater.

On July 14, all neighborhoods continued maintenance activities to prepare for additional heavy rain, including collecting fallen leaves and trash from roads, shopping areas, and residential districts, and cleaning drainage channels and rainwater drains.

Jung Hyunseop, head of Jinhae-gu District Office, said, "We made every effort to minimize damage through preemptive inspections and swift response," and added, "We will immediately reinforce the vulnerable areas identified during this inspection to ensure that no damage occurs during future heavy rains."
