Local Travel Agencies Lead Overnight Programs
Combining Nightscape Attractions and Experiences
From POSCO Nightscape to Spacewalk and Moon Boat Rides,
Showcasing Pohang's Unique and Vibrant Nights
Pohang City will officially launch tourism products selected through the "Night Tourism Product Development Contest" held in the first half of this year.
These night tourism products are overnight stay programs planned and operated directly by local travel agencies. By adding various experiential elements to Pohang's most iconic nightscape attractions, they showcase the unique charm of Pohang's nights to visitors.
The main courses of the selected tourism products include the night view of Yeongildae Beach, which features the nation's first offshore pavilion, the POSCO nightscape, and the Spacewalk at Hwanho Park. Visitors can also enjoy unique experiences such as nightscape viewing, yacht and moon boat (Pohang Canal Dalbae) rides, busking performances, fishing on board, and tours of local restaurants.
Currently, five products are being operated: "A Night in Pohang, the City of Beautiful Nightscapes" by Uri Travel Agency, "Pohang Nightscape Tour: Eat and Enjoy to the Fullest" by Tourholic, "Vivid Pohang Nightscape and Culinary Tour" by Jeil Travel Agency, "Ppangppang Imagination Memory Making" by Culture Story, and "Pohang Nights with Light and Music" by Samil Travel.
The city plans to continue providing various support so that these programs can become a new model for summer night tourism. In particular, the city aims to promote stay-type tourism by linking local restaurants and experiential content, thereby revitalizing the local economy.
A Pohang City official stated, "The night in Pohang has a unique atmosphere where the lights of the steel industry blend with the romance of the sea," and added, "We hope you will enjoy Pohang's diverse night tourism content while feeling the cool night breeze during the hot summer."
The list of night tourism products and related inquiries can be found in the "Ppangppang Travel" notice section on the Pohang City Culture and Tourism website.
