Kim Dongyeon Holds First Policy Meeting as Ruling Party Governor: "Gyeonggi Province Will Stand with the New Government"

Gyeonggi Province Governor Dongyeon Kim held a "policy meeting" with Democratic Party of Korea National Assembly members and non-incumbent committee chairs from the Gyeonggi region on the 14th.

Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, there have been several policy meetings involving an "opposition party governor and opposition party National Assembly members (Gyeonggi)." However, this is the first meeting held in a changed environment, with both the governor and the National Assembly members representing the ruling party.

In his greeting speech, Governor Kim stated, "Not long ago, we spoke of a 'winning Democratic Party,' but now it is about a 'successful Democratic Party' and a 'successful government of the sovereign people.' He added, "Gyeonggi Province will always stand together and provide support on the path toward a successful government of the sovereign people led by President Lee Jaemyung."

He continued, "Since the launch of the new government, Gyeonggi Province has made efforts to work together as the number one national policy partner of our Lee Jaemyung government of the sovereign people." He added, "During the presidential election process, many of the policies and initiatives promoted by Gyeonggi Province were reflected in President Lee Jaemyung's campaign pledges. More recently, they have also been incorporated into the National Policy Planning Committee, which is very gratifying."

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Lee Hakyoung, in his greeting, said, "For the development of the Republic of Korea, for the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration, and for the transformation of Gyeonggi Province, please take good care of the national policy tasks." He encouraged the audience, saying, "Please give a big round of applause to Governor Dongyeon Kim."

Representative Kim Seungwon (Chair of the Gyeonggi Provincial Party) said, "I understand that Governor Dongyeon Kim ranks first among all metropolitan mayors nationwide in terms of administrative satisfaction and also ranks first in pledge fulfillment." He promised, "I will also do my best to ensure that Gyeonggi Province's policy tasks are fully reflected in national policy."

Representative Choo Mi-ae said, "Our Gyeonggi Province is a key pillar in enhancing the happiness of the people." She added, "As Governor Dongyeon Kim has received top evaluations, I ask for everyone's cooperation so that this momentum can continue."

Representative Cho Jungshik remarked, "Seeing this room filled to capacity, I am once again reminded of how remarkable Gyeonggi Province is." He continued, "Gyeonggi Province led the victory in the last presidential election, and I believe it will also lead the success of the newly launched Lee Jaemyung administration."

Representative Jung Sungho, who has been nominated as Minister of Justice in the Lee Jaemyung administration, stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure that the Republic of Korea becomes a truly law-abiding nation." Representative Yoon Hojoong, who has been nominated as Minister of the Interior and Safety, pledged, "I will take the lead in building a Ministry of the Interior and Safety that is responsible for the happiness and safety of the people."
