According to the province on July 14, the 'Proud Jeonbuk Citizen Award' is the most prestigious award in the province, presented to individuals who have enhanced the honor and pride of Jeonbuk residents and have dedicated themselves to the development of Jeonbuk.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the award has honored 174 recipients so far, continuing its tradition as a model for the community. Awardees are selected in four categories: ▲Innovation ▲Economy ▲Culture ▲Sharing. Eligible candidates are those who have improved the quality of life for residents and elevated Jeonbuk’s status in various fields, including science and technology, quality of life enhancement, job creation, culture and the arts, education, social service, and filial piety.

Nominations can be made by the heads of local institutions, organizations, or companies, or by a joint recommendation from at least 20 Jeonbuk residents. Self-nominations are not allowed. As of the announcement date (July 14), nominees must have resided in Jeonbuk for at least three years, or have their registered domicile or original family register in Jeonbuk, and must have achievements in the relevant field. Previous recipients are not eligible.

Applications will be accepted until August 29 through the Autonomy Administration Division of the Jeonbuk Provincial Office or the autonomy administration departments of city and county offices. Postal submissions are also permitted. Required documents include a recommendation form, a record of achievements, a letter of consent for the nomination, and a certificate of career.

The province will finalize the recipients at the end of September after preliminary and main screenings, and the awards will be presented at the '45th Provincial Residents’ Day' ceremony scheduled for October 24.

Kim Jongpil, Director of the Autonomy Administration Bureau, stated, "The Proud Jeonbuk Citizen Award is the highest honor bestowed in the name of the residents, and it is a token of the respect and recognition deserved by those who bring pride to Jeonbuk. We hope for the active interest and many nominations from our residents."
