Practical Support for Bridging the Digital Divide and Preventing Voice Phishing
BNK Busan Bank (President Bang Seongbin) conducted a 'Senior Smartphone Education Volunteer Activity' on July 12 at the Watch Community Welfare Center in Yeongdo-gu, where the Dugeundugeun Talent Donation Volunteer Group's Digital IT Team participated and provided education to about 10 elderly individuals.

This training was organized to improve information accessibility for digitally marginalized elderly people and to help prevent financial fraud. The program included instructions on how to use digital devices, how to select appropriate mobile plans, and how to prevent voice phishing.
In particular, the volunteers used customized textbooks they had created themselves, and the training was conducted with a focus on one-on-one hands-on practice, resulting in high satisfaction among participating seniors.
Since establishing the Talent Donation Volunteer Group in 2015, Busan Bank has consistently carried out various social contribution activities based on the expertise of its employees. This year, the volunteer group was reorganized into five specialized teams: Digital IT, Financial Education, Global, Culture and Arts, and Plogging and Health. It is now operated with about 130 employees participating.
The Talent Donation Volunteer Group plans to conduct volunteer activities on July 26, including the Financial Education Team, the Global and Culture and Arts Team, and the Plogging and Health Team.
Kim Yongkyu, Head of the Management Strategy Group at Busan Bank, said, "This training went beyond simply teaching how to use smartphones. It was an effort to improve the quality of life for seniors and to bridge the digital divide," adding, "We will continue to utilize our employees' professional skills to carry out talent donation activities that provide practical help to the local community."
Busan Bank has designated the third Saturday of every month as 'Community Volunteer Day' and, with the Dugeundugeun Local Volunteer Group at its center, regularly carries out volunteer activities in all 16 districts and counties across Busan.
