On July 14, the county announced that it is operating a "Comprehensive Livestock Disaster Countermeasures Task Force" to minimize damage to livestock farms, such as livestock deaths caused by abnormal weather events, and to establish a rapid response system.

The county has mobilized all 16 employees of the Livestock Division to visit livestock farms vulnerable to heatwaves three times a week, inspect facilities, and provide guidance on summer livestock management practices.

To prevent heatwave damage to livestock farms, the county is allocating a total budget of 330 million won to support cooling and ventilation equipment such as sprinklers, ventilators, and cooling pads, as well as heatwave stress relievers. The county plans to complete the implementation of these measures by the end of this month.

In addition, the county is working in cooperation with township and village administrative welfare centers and livestock-related organizations to encourage farmers to enroll in livestock disaster insurance. This insurance allows for substantial compensation in the event of a disaster and is expected to greatly contribute to the economic stability and business recovery of the farms.

Yeom Kyungseon, head of the Livestock Division, stated, "In this era of climate crisis, it is extremely important to proactively respond to unpredictable natural disasters," adding, "We will do our utmost to provide administrative support and field-oriented responses so that farmers can maintain stable livestock operations."
