On July 14, SK Broadband announced that it will offer discounted rates for new B tv subscribers and improve convenience by allowing installations during weekday evenings and weekends.

Amid continued subscriber churn following SK Telecom's hacking incident and the waiver of penalty fees, SK Broadband, which operates IPTV and internet services, is actively seeking to attract new customers.

SK Broadband is launching a promotion for new and long-term customers during the summer vacation season, running for two months from today (July 14) until September 13.

During this period, new subscribers will receive benefits such as exemption from IPTV and cable TV installation fees, discounts on popular B tv plans, and free safe security value-added services.

For those who subscribe to B tv, B tv Cable, or B tv Pop, the installation fee (34,100 KRW for standalone IPTV) will be waived. Additionally, for three popular plans that provide access to live channels and approximately 200,000 pieces of content?B tv All+, B tv Pop 230+, and B tv Pop 180+?subscribers who sign a three-year contract will receive a monthly discount of 5,500 KRW on their subscription fee for three months.

New high-speed internet (100M/500M/1G) subscribers can choose one of three free safe security value-added services for the duration of their subscription: 'ModuAnsim', which blocks harmful websites on PCs and smartphones; 'Remote Care', a remote inspection service for PCs and smartphones; and 'Power Vaccine', which provides real-time virus detection and removal as well as automatic device optimization.

There are also benefits for long-term customers. Those who have used an old set-top box for more than five years on a three-year contract and apply to upgrade to the latest set-top boxes?Smart3, Smart3 Mini, AI 4 Vision, or AI Speaker type?during the promotion period will receive a 4,400 KRW monthly discount on the set-top box rental fee for the duration of their use. The installation fee (11,000 KRW) for the set-top box replacement will also be waived.

For example, upgrading to the AI 4 Vision set-top box allows customers to use it for 4,400 KRW per month, which is half of the regular monthly rental fee of 8,800 KRW. The AI 4 Vision offers 4K resolution, AI features including 'B tv with A.Dot', motion-sensing games, and applications such as Netflix and Apple TV.

The subscription process is also being improved for greater convenience. SK Broadband is officially launching the '365 Installation' service, which expands available installation times to weekends, evenings, and same-day appointments through its official online subscription center, B Direct Shop.

As a result, high-speed internet and B tv installations are now available on weekday evenings (until 8 p.m.), Saturday afternoons (until 5 p.m.), and Sundays and public holidays (until 4 p.m.). Customers can select their preferred installation date and time when applying via B Direct Shop.

Until August 31, new high-speed internet and B tv subscribers who sign up through B Direct Shop will be entered into a prize draw. Prizes include a MacBook Air 15 (one winner), AirPods Max (three winners), Dyson fans (five winners), and Baemin gift certificates (one hundred winners).
