On July 14, Daewoo E&C unveiled its design proposal for the new apartments to be built through the reconstruction of Gaepo Woosung 7th Complex. The new complex will consist of 1,130 units arranged in eight buildings across two rows. The building coverage ratio has been kept low. The company explained that the orientation of the buildings has been adjusted to prevent interference with the lower part of the existing complex and between units, resulting in an improved layout compared to the original plan.
The company also announced plans to introduce a slab-type tower design for the first time in the Gaepo area. This so-called third-generation slab-type tower combines the tower design typically used for high-end apartments with the slab configuration, which is advantageous for views and natural lighting. According to Daewoo E&C, all units, including those for association members and general sales, will face south and allow for cross-ventilation.

Regarding unit composition, 932 out of the total units will be medium to large-sized, each with a dedicated area exceeding 59 square meters. Of these, 622 units?more than half?will feature a three-sided open layout. The complex is located near Daemosan Mountain, Yangjaecheon Stream, and Tancheon Stream, with good access to the city center, allowing residents to enjoy a variety of views. Large panoramic windows on three sides have been installed to enhance the sense of openness.
The actual usable area of the units has been increased. The 99-type unit offers the same usable area as the 112-type in the association’s original plan, thanks to an expanded service area. The 112-type unit even provides a larger usable area than the original 122-type. The association plans to select a contractor for the new apartments next month. Samsung C&T is also reportedly interested in the construction contract.
