[Market Focus] FromBio Rises on Proven Hair Growth Promotion Effects of Hair Loss Treatment

FromBio is showing strong performance. This appears to be influenced by news that its hair loss treatment has demonstrated hair growth promotion effects in preclinical studies.

As of 9:22 a.m. on July 14, FromBio was trading at 2,160 won, up 55 won (2.61%) from the previous trading day.

On this day, FromBio announced that it had confirmed significant hair growth promotion effects and initial safety in a preclinical efficacy test of its hair loss treatment, which utilizes dermal papilla-like cells (dADSCs) derived from its proprietary adipose-derived stem cells.

This study was conducted by administering a single intradermal injection of the cells into the skin of immunodeficient mouse models and observing the hair growth process over a period of more than three weeks. As a result, both visual and histological analyses showed a clear effect in promoting hair growth.

The group that received the cell treatment also showed a statistically significant increase in the number and density of hair follicles. The study was completed without any changes in body weight or abnormal symptoms during the test period. The company explained that the results were also positive in terms of initial safety.

Based on these results, FromBio is sequentially conducting additional safety evaluations, including general toxicity tests, tumorigenicity tests, and in vivo distribution studies. Once safety data is secured, the company plans to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety within one year.

Hong Ingi, head researcher at FromBio, stated, "We expect to set a new standard in the hair loss treatment market based on our stem cell differentiation technology and proprietary composition patents," adding, "We will accelerate the clinical entry and commercialization of the first stem cell-derived hair loss treatment in Korea, supported by data demonstrating both efficacy and safety."
