The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency operated the integrated Gyeonggi-do Pavilion at the '2025 Japan International Food Exhibition (JFEX)' held at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan, from July 9 to July 11, and supported local food companies in pioneering export markets.
The Japan International Food Exhibition is a B2B exhibition specializing in processed foods, beverages, alcoholic drinks, and premium foods. The event attracts a large number of food industry professionals from Japan and the wider Asian region. This year, more than 400 companies from 21 countries participated, and the exhibition was organized into six specialized sections, including processed foods, wine and alcoholic beverages, and premium foods.

At this exhibition, the agency, together with Namyangju City and Icheon City, operated the integrated Gyeonggi-do Pavilion and provided support to a total of 11 companies, including booth rental and setup costs, one-way shipping costs for exhibits, pre-arranged buyer matching, and on-site interpretation services.
The participating companies held a total of 360 consultations at the exhibition, resulting in export consultation achievements totaling 10.1 million dollars.
Kim Hyungon, President of the agency, stated, "Through the stronger-than-expected local response, we have confirmed the growth potential of K-food in the Japanese market," and added, "We will do our utmost to provide follow-up support so that the consultation results of the companies can lead to actual exports."
The agency has been participating in the Japan International Food Exhibition since 2023. Last year, 11 companies participated, achieving export consultation results totaling 36.48 million dollars through 206 consultations.
