HiteJinro Launches Four Varieties of Japanese Premium Whisky "Fuji" Series

The newly launched products include "Fuji Blended," "Fuji Single Blended," "Fuji Single Grain," and "Fuji Single Malt 17 Years," bringing the total lineup to six when combined with last year's imports of "Fuji Sanroku Signature Blend" and "Fuji Single Malt Whisky."

The Gotemba Distillery, which produces the Fuji series, was established by the Kirin Group in 1973. Located in the forests near Mount Fuji, it uses clear and soft water from 100 meters underground that has undergone a lengthy natural purification process, resulting in a uniquely distinctive character. Notably, it is the only distillery in the world capable of producing malt whisky and grain whisky in American, Canadian, and Scottish styles simultaneously at a single site.

"Fuji Blended" is a limited edition crafted with distinctive base spirits, specially created for the European and American markets. It features a creamy body, fruit aromas reminiscent of Western pears, sweet flavors of matured red fruits, and a refreshing woody note. "Fuji Single Blended" represents the quintessential blended whisky that Gotemba Distillery aspires to, making it an ideal daily whisky that satisfies both beginners and enthusiasts. It is characterized by aromas of peach, apricot, and orange, along with flavors of pear tart and honeyed white flowers, offering a silky, delicate sweetness and fruity notes.

"Fuji Single Grain" combines three types of grain whisky to deliver a rich fruit aroma harmonized with subtle spiciness. It features sweet scents reminiscent of raspberry, orange marmalade, and pound cake, while layers of white grape, orange peel, and raspberry unfold for a smooth texture with a hint of sweetness. "Fuji Single Malt 17 Years" is regarded as a masterpiece representing Gotemba Distillery's malt whisky. Designed for whisky enthusiasts who appreciate delicate flavors and depth, only 57 bottles will be available in Korea. It offers sweet aromas of Western pear, quince, and white flowers, complemented by the savory sweetness of maple, brown sugar, and caramel, along with a complex oak character.

Yoo Taeyoung, Executive Director at HiteJinro, stated, "The launch of these four Fuji whiskies comes at a time when interest in Japanese premium whisky is rising domestically. This will serve as an opportunity to strengthen the brand identity and showcase the technical prowess of Gotemba Distillery. We will strive to satisfy a wide range of consumers, from whisky beginners to enthusiasts, through our diverse lineup."
